Former 3rd round pick was overmatched in Richmond before getting bumped down to San Jose in favor of Angel Villalona mid-season. He’s got the defensive ability to play at the next level, but the bat has fallen behind. The power is there, as he’s shown on multiple occasions in the Cal League. However, the contact is not, and that may be what keeps him from reaching his potential (he wouldn’t be the first). He’ll have to grind it out in AA if he gets another chance next year.
They said it: “…a big player with big power, but with a the looming possibility of a paltry average and a ton of strikeouts…could find himself as a corner outfielder at some point during his career because of his arm strength.” ~ Scout.com
